The project in pictures

On a previous trip to Haiti, I was blessed to receive some toys donation from Smilemakers INC and its employees. I did not have time to stay to distribute all the toys myself but just part of it. Pastor Raymond Antoine took care of this matter for me and he took some pictures as well ( I know the cam says 94 but it was 2007). I want to thanks also all my friends who have helped a way or the other to make this past trip possible. These pictures where taken in Trouin a locality of Leogane.

I am not naming names in fears of forgetting someone and be in trouble but you all know who you are. I will be going again this year in the not so distant future. Please pray that we get more stuff and more sponsors.

Look at this pictures yourself and tell me what is more precious than helping feed a child, giving a toy to a child! A smile of a child is just priceless! I know there are many charities helping Haiti and no matter how many there are we need 10 times more. So you are encourage to help where you can how you can, just do something!

God bless!

Feeding program in Haiti

As you know by now if you have been reading my blog (if not please browse around), I have a lot of love and projects for Haiti. This time I want to be as specific as possible and hit one target at a time. My priority is to be able to set up a feeding program in Haiti.

Why a feeding program?
Well, you wake up have your breakfast and lunch and dinner and do not even think about it? What if I tell you there are some kids/family in Haiti who have to get on their knees to wait to literally wait on the Lord just to have one meal a day. Unfortunately some others choose to steal and others just beg. Whatever the means they use it is just a problem that we should not be even talking about now! It is a reality and it is not a secret. It is all over the news, it is real. Specially after this four hurricanes we had in Haiti last year.

I was talking to a pastor who has a school and wants to start with a feeding program and he was telling how the kids come to school hungry and can not even learn and he even told me that most of them just quit coming because of hunger and if the school could have a feeding program he would also have more children coming to learn! What a combination!

SO, I am begging you, would you please help me set up this program? Do you know someone who already has one and would want to partner with me or a church who is looking for a project in Haiti to help? Please help me make a difference for the Lord knowing that we will make a difference in someone's life just as it was done in mine. Please contact me or post your comment here if you have any ideas.

Thanks for loving and helping Haiti!

Bonne fête des mères! Happy mother's day!

Today is Mother's day in Haiti. This holiday is celebrated in Haiti every last Sunday of May. It is a big day in Haiti as opposed to father's day who always passed unnoticed most of the time comparing to mother's day. Well, one reason is due to most of the kids are raised and live with their moms and their father is missing in action for the most part of the children's life or if not even for all their life.

A mother in Haiti works very hard. Though a lot of them uneducated or have a low level of education, they make sure their kids get the best education. They work very hard, doing all kind of manual labors. They walked miles to go sell candies, water, cloth etc...

I have the utmost respect for mothers in general and particularly those in Haiti. They are my heroes!.

I personally did not have the opportunity to enjoy a mother as this is the case for many many kids in Haiti I know that my mom would have filled me with lots of love! Though I never remember even seeing her face or feeling her tender hands I know she would have been the person to go to when I need advice!

To all mothers in Haiti and in the world who are celebrating today happy mother's day! I just would like to write a message in creole for all Haitian mother who might come along this blog: Kenbe fèm pa lage! Mwen konnen nou travay anpil e nou pa janm vreman gen tan pou nou repoze! Mwen konnen se nou ki leve pi bonè e ki al nan kabann pi ta! Mèsi pou sakrifis nou! Mwen renmen nou tout anpil anpil! Map priye Bondye pou li ban mwen opotinite pou mwen ka ede nou!

A special Happy mother's day to my wife , my step mother, my mother-in-law and aunties and all the women who have helped me a way or the other.

You are welcome to leave a message for your mom even when you have celebrated Mother's day already! Mother's day should be everyday! We welcome as well your story about a special mom! Note: You do not need to register to post a message!
