Why this sport?
He wanted something to do as his mother wouldn't let him play football. One of his teachers suggested he try athletics. (IAAF Magazine Vol 18, 2003)

Awards and honours
At the 2001 World Championships he won Haiti's first global medal [bronze] since long jumper Silvio Cator finished second in the 1928 Olympic Games. (IAAF Magazine Vol 18, 2003)

FROM USA TO HAITI
He formerly competed for the USA but switched to Haiti, the birthplace of his parents in 1999, after missing the US trials for the World Championships in Seville. Haitian officials had been asking him to run for them since 1996 but it was the chance to run at the World Championships that sealed his fate. (IAAF Magazine Vol 18, 2003)

How warm is it?
